Sterilization is widely used in the industrial field. In industry, the sterilization process is used for certain items that were utilized in antiseptic areas corresponding to some clinical instruments and medications. Even though there are numerous sorts of sterilization strategies as indicated by the physicochemical properties of the substances. Radiations are widely used all over the world to sterilize many items and this sterilization process has many benefits that depend upon its lower toxicity. Usage of radiation sterilization in modern fields showed that 10-15% increment per year. Many gamma radioactivity foundations have developed more than one hundred and eighty gamma radioactivity organizations have worked in almost 50 nations worldwide. Animal feeds, drugs, and poisonous gases may be decontaminated by gamma radiation sterilizations. Gamma radiation sterilization is also used for sterilization of a wide range of items, products, or drugs.
On the other hand, electron beam (E-beam) sterilization is very safe and used for the sterilization of packing materials of medical items or products, drugs, polymers, or the food industry. It has a bright future and it has compatibility with different kinds of materials. About 40 years ago, E-beam sterilization is an important method in the industrial and medical fields. This process is used for only small products. Thus, radiation sterilization is a good choice for different pharmaceutical products and medical devices that cannot withstand heat or steam sterilization.
