Abstract

Determining the risk of cardiovascular illnesses requires an understanding of the connection between blood cholesterol levels and Body Mass Index (BMI). In a sample of healthy students, the current study evaluated the relationships between total serum cholesterol and BMI. Sarhad University of Science and Information and Technology Peshawar undergraduate students participated in cross-sectional research. Thirty blood samples were taken from male and female undergraduate fat students at Sarhad University Peshawar. The micro lab 300 was used to analyze the venous blood in order to assess the cholesterol level, and SPSS Version 22 was used for statistical analysis. The number of female students were n=18 and male children were n=12. People in group 2 (ages 23 to 27) had elevated cholesterol. Of the thirty students, twenty-six had excessive cholesterol, whereas the remaining four had normal cholesterol. This study indicated that there was a positive correlation between blood cholesterol and obesity in both males and females, and that obese undergraduate students had elevated cholesterol levels. To determine the relationship between obesity and other lipid molecules (LDL, HDL, and VLDL), more research is necessary.
